Over 2,000 tons of ice nickel! The first batch of Ice Nickel from Sinovel's Morovalli Industrial Base arrives at Qinzhou Port

On January 20, 2024 local time, the first batch of more than 2,000 tons of ice nickel products from China Wei's Morowali industrial base in Indonesia was loaded at the park's wharf and departed for the domestic port of Qinzhou. After a 10-day sea voyage, the cargo ship arrived in Qinzhou, Guangxi Province, on January 30. This is another raw material base that has successfully docked with and interconnected with the Zhongwei Qinzhou Industrial Base after Zhongwei's Widabe Industrial Base in Indonesia, further linking up the company's domestic and international double-cycle industrial layout and helping to steadily strengthen Zhongwei's global supply chain and market competitiveness.

The first batch of ice nickel from the Morowali industrial base was shipped back to China, fully demonstrating that the Zhongwei Indonesia OESBF project is gradually realizing project revenues, and has become another channel for safeguarding core metal raw materials such as nickel and cobalt for Zhongwei. Since the commissioning of the world's first OESBF production line for the preparation of low ice nickel from laterite nickel ore at the Sinovel Indonesia Morowali Industrial Base, the line has entered the stage of "mass production and stable production" after continuous debugging and optimization, marking the fact that Sinovel has become the first enterprise in the world to master this process for smelting laterite nickel ore.

As one of the world's three major processes for smelting nickel laterite, the OESBF process has considerable advantages over other processes in terms of energy consumption and carbon emissions, production capacity and adaptability to raw materials. In terms of energy consumption, the OESBF process has no "heat-electricity-heat" conversion process, so the energy utilization efficiency is higher; in terms of production capacity and adaptability of raw materials, the process has low requirements on the grade, moisture and particle size of nickel laterite ores, rapid response, high unit productivity, and a recovery rate of over 93% of nickel. According to the plan, six OESBF production lines will be constructed in Morowali Industrial Base, of which two lines in the first phase of the project have been put into operation, and each line can achieve an annual production capacity of 10,000 metal tons of nickel. 2024, the Morowali Industrial Base will aim at "reaching production and achieving the efficiency", further mobilizing the enthusiasm of the staff of Sino-Indonesia, and giving full play to the core value of "pragmatic, innovative, enterprising and win-win" of Zhongwei people to comprehensively promote the comprehensive efficiency of the project, and give full play to the maximum potential of the process. In 2024, the Morowali industrial base will aim at "reaching production and efficiency", further mobilizing the enthusiasm of Sino-Indonesian staff, giving full play to the core values of Zhongwei people, which are "truthfulness, innovation, aggressiveness, and win-win situation", comprehensively promoting the project's comprehensive benefits, and giving full play to the process's potential.

With the commissioning of the three major industrial bases in Indonesia, namely, Morowali, Widabe and North Morowali, the core nickel metal raw materials of new energy materials of China Wealth will be transported back to the country, forming a cross-region integrated industrial complex with major industrial bases of China Wealth, and realizing internationalized production. In the future, the raw materials produced in Indonesia will also be supplied to other internationalized industrial bases such as South Korea and Morocco, so that globalized production and globalized organization can serve the globalized market, which will become the norm of the new energy material industry chain in the future.
