CuNi40
CuNi40 copper-nickel alloy is a resistance alloy primarily composed of copper and nickel. It features a low temperature coefficient of resistance, excellent machinability, corrosion resistance, and easy brazing, making it suitable for manufacturing various standard resistors, shunts, and precision resistors.
This alloy is non-magnetic. It is used in variable resistors and strain gauge potentiometers for electric recuperators, heating wires, heating cables and pads. It is used with bimetals for heating. Another application is in the manufacturing of thermocouples, as its combination with other metals generates a high electromotive force (EMF).
